On May 31, 2000 I received, written permission from Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, Solid Waste Management Program.
After site visits to my composting operation, by both EPD and Georgia Department of Agriculture, it was deemed that a Solid Waste Handling Permit was not required for my facility operations at this time.
At This Time; I was collecting Source Separated Organics from 37 Commercial Food Residual Producers and working on the collection of the Food "Residuals" Waste from the Athens Clarke County Schools.
I was also granted permission to accept Paper Sludge from Visy Paper. The Paper Sludge was used as a carbon source. EPD gave me permission to accept one trailer load at a time, until it was mixed and in windrows. One trailer load was 45 cubic yards. With an ample supply of Food Waste, this could easily be done on a daily basis.
